Job Description

Position Summary:

The Product Manager is responsible for Leading the product review and change process for assigned states and lines of business.  This includes analyzing key metrics for the products we offer, gathering input from all stakeholders, and proposing and implementing product changes that will enhance the growth and profitability of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the product review and change process for assigned states and lines which includes:
    • Reviewing Key growth and profitability measures for new and existing products
    • Gathering input related to products from Sales, Claims, Underwriting, Operations, and Actuarial Departments
    • Monitoring state regulation that may impact the company portfolio
    • Drafting policy forms, endorsements, notices, and manual rules as needed to effectuate changes  
    • Proposing changes and solutions to Senior Leadership that will enhance the growth and profitability of assigned lines
    • Researching market need, rate, competition, filings, and System effort for new products or changes to existing products
    • Providing a cost/benefit analysis for proposed changes
    • Filing with, monitoring, and responding to questions on filings with the Departments of Insurance in assigned states.
    • Initiating, monitoring, and responding to questions on IT changes needed for assigned lines
    • Communicating and assisting with training in Sales, Underwriting, Claims, and other depts. regarding upcoming product changes/features and target dates.
    • Monitoring the result of changes as implemented, to assess success and create next steps.
  • Acts as subject matter expert on forms, rules, filing procedures, coverage issues and regulatory compliance
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains compliance with Heritage’s Best Practices.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in insurance.
  • Fluent in WORD, Excel, Access and/ or similar software.
  • Ability to analyze data and reach logical conclusions based on the data
  • Excellent use of the English language to understand legislative requirements as well as to communicate complex ideas.
  • Ability to present ideas and concepts to various departments and organizational levels.
  • Ability to solve problems and lead others to push the solution and progress.
